A day for grandparents
Friends of Portland Memory Garden invite you to join us Sunday, September 13th, 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, to celebrate National Grandparents' Day with your family, friends, and community.
Make it a special day for the grandparents and elders who have had an impact in your life! It's bound to be joyful for all ages with music by the Hollywood Ukulele Group.
It's free for everyone. Bring a picnic or snack. Sweet treats and cold beverages will be available, and you will find plenty of benches with ample shade for relaxing. Enjoy activities for all ages!
The Portland Memory Garden at Ed Benedict Park provides a calm, nature focused experience for older adults, people with disabilities, and all park visitors.
Portland Parks & Recreation partners with the Friends of Portland Memory Garden to support ongoing garden stewardship and seasonal programming. To learn more about the friend group, visit their website.
Site Accessibility
The Portland Memory Garden has a mixture of paved, hard surface pathways and compact pebble pathways. There is an ADA accessible restroom, and the garden was designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind. Many parts of the garden are shaded and there are benches throughout.
If you have questions about the accessibility of the garden, please contact us.
If you have an ADA accommodation request to be able to participate in this event, please use the 311 ADA Accommodation Request webpage.
If you would like to learn more about or request language access services, please contact PDX 311.
We recommend making your request as soon as possible and at least 5 business days (Monday - Friday) in advance of the event.
