Mt. Tabor Last Saturday Volunteer Event

Please join Portland Parks & Recreation and the Friends of Mt. Tabor Park Weed Warriors for a volunteer event at Mt. Tabor Park.
9:00 am 12:00 pm

Help keep Mt. Tabor Park healthy by removing weedy, introduced plants with Portland Parks & Recreation and the Friends of Mt. Tabor Park Weed Warriors. Please bring your own water bottle, wear closed toe shoes, and dress for the weather. Instructions, tools, and gloves will be provided. For the safety of staff and other volunteers, please stay home if you are feeling sick.

Meeting Location: Meet at the Mt. Tabor Visitor Center at SE Salmon Way and, SE Park Dr, Portland, OR 97215 . See the MAP.

Parking: There is a large parking lot at the Mt. Tabor Visitor Center. 

Location Description: There will be a ~10 minute walk from the meeting location to the work site on a slightly sloped gravel trail. The worksite is on sloped and uneven terrain. 

Children are welcome: Any child under 14 years of age needs to be accompanied by an attentive adult.

Thank you for helping to keep Portland parks healthy and beautiful! Here are a few tips to get you ready for your stewardship event.

Thank you for helping to keep Portland parks healthy and beautiful! Here are a few tips to get you ready for your stewardship event. 

  • Registration is required for all stewardship events, unless otherwise noted.  
  • Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any contagious illness.  
  • All tools, gloves and training to do the task is provided. 
  • In order to ensure your comfort and safety, please remember to dress for the weather, wear close-toed shoes, bring a water bottle, and be ready to get dirty!  
  • While groups are welcome to join many of our regularly scheduled stewardship events, please contact the event coordinator listed in the description before arriving with a large group. This will ensure that there are enough gloves and tools for everyone to work. We are also available to schedule special service events at your group's convenience during the week or on weekends. Learn more about programs for groups. 

If you are looking for community service to fulfill court requirements, please call 503-823-5121. You must be registered with our program before undertaking any community service
