Celebrate Earth Month at Laurelhurst Park
Spend your Wednesday morning at a local beauty, Laurelhurst Park, for this Earth Month work party.
We will be installing plants, weeding, and other gardening tasks. Volunteers of all skills and abilities are welcome. No previous experience is required. PP&R will provide training, tools, and gloves.
Important! Participants must be 18 years and older.
Event Reminders
- Please bring a water bottle and dress for the weather, including wearing close-toed shoes.
- Work looks and feels different for every body. It's okay to go at your own pace and take breaks.
- These events run rain, shine, or something in between!
- If you are feeling sick, please take care of yourself and your community - stay home. There will always be more opportunities to volunteer!
Meeting Location
Meet us near the blue-green maintenance building at 3600 SE Ankeny near the bulletin board, which is located centrally on the park’s north border, which is Ankeny St., between Chavez Blvd. and 33rd Ave
Accessibility
There are paved pathways throughout the park, however, some volunteer work may require being off the path in garden beds or planted areas. Some work requires kneeling or stooping.
There are restrooms located in the center of the park, and many parts of the park are well-shaded.
If you have questions about event accessibility or need a Title II ADA Reasonable Accommodation to participate, please reach out to us as soon as possible and at least 3 business days in advance.
