Celebrate Earth Month at Pier Park

Spend your Saturday morning at north Portland gem, Pier Park, for the returning Pier Park Pick Up hosted in partnership with the Friends of Pier Park and SOLVE Oregon!

We will be mulching, removing disruptive ivy, weeding in the Woodland Garden, and doing some minimal planting. Volunteers of all ages, skills, and abilities are welcome! No previous experience is required.

PP&R will provide training, tools, and gloves, and SOLVE will provide waste bags and litter pickers.

Register for the Pier Park Pick Up online.

Event Reminders

  • Please bring a water bottle and dress for the weather, including wearing close-toed shoes.
  • Work looks and feels different for every body. It's okay to go at your own pace and take breaks.
  • These events run rain, shine, or something in between!
  • If you are feeling sick, please take care of yourself and your community - stay home. There will always be more opportunities to volunteer!

Meeting Location

Meet us at the maintenance shed off of N James and Bruce St. located at the NW entrance of the park.

Accessibility

There are paved pathways in varying conditions throughout the park. There are a few benches for resting located throughout the park located on or next to a paved pathway.

Some volunteer work may require being off the path in garden beds or planted areas. Some work may require kneeling or stooping.

There is a Portland Loo available at this park, and many parts of the park are well-shaded.

If you have questions about event accessibility or would like to request a Title II ADA Reasonable Accommodation to participate, please reach out to us as soon as possible and at least 3 business days in advance.

Parking and Nearby Bus Stops

Street parking is available by the park and in the surrounding neighborhood.

TriMet Bus Line 44/75 has a stop off of N Lombard and Weyerhauser about .5 miles from the park meeting location.
