Come join Portland Parks and Portland Fire on Saturday, December 6 as we work together to help protect Overlook Park and the surrounding neighborhood from the threat of wildfire. We will be working from 9 am-12pm on reducing forest fuels by removing woody debris. We will also use this time to learn about how best to protect your home from a devastating fire.
Please be prepared to work, wear hiking shoes or boots, long pants, long sleeves, layers for warmth and to keep you dry. Gloves and appropriate tools will be provided. If possible, please carpool.
If you have any questions, please contact Charlie Nappi at (503) 823-6537.
Registration is required.
To register, please fill out the registration form.
Meeting Location
We will meet at the Overlook House Community Center located at 3839 N Melrose Dr, Portland, OR 97227 and work in several locations in the park.

Getting Ready for the Event
Thank you for helping to keep Portland parks healthy and beautiful! Here are a few tips to get you ready for your stewardship event.
- In order to ensure your comfort and safety, please remember to dress for the weather, wear close-toed shoes, bring a water bottle, and be ready to get dirty!
- Registration is required for all stewardship events, unless otherwise noted.
- Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any contagious illness.
- All tools, gloves and training to do the task is provided.
- While groups are welcome to join many of our regularly scheduled stewardship events, please contact the event coordinator listed in the description before arriving with a large group. This will ensure that there are enough gloves and tools for everyone to work. We are also available to schedule special service events at your group's convenience during the week or on weekends.
