Volunteer with the Holiday Express Train Ride Crew

Portland Parks & Recreation is encouraging community members to volunteer with the Holiday Express train ride crew! 

Help welcome riders to the Doyle McCormack Engine House for a slow train ride along the Springwater Corridor. 

Volunteers age 15 and older are welcome. This can be a fun and rewarding way to get involved with your community, or a great school service project. You’ll get an up close view of Portland’s three steam locomotives and be offered a ride on the Holiday Express, pulled this year by the 1912 Polson #2 steam locomotive. 

Lunch or dinners are provided. Volunteers are needed for a variety of shifts, Friday through Sunday, November 29 through January 4. To sign up, visit the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation volunteer page.
