Fundraising Partnerships for Existing Capital Park Projects
Thank you for your interest in supporting current capital park projects through fundraising. We value your partnership and look forward to reviewing your proposal.
Proposals may be submitted once per year for eligible projects listed below and must include a complete funding strategy. Proposals that meet the established criteria will be reviewed and scored, with one proposal selected for implementation. Projects will not begin until full funding has been secured.
After fundraising begins, the project timeline will be determined based on the proposed funding schedule, project scope, and the design and construction timeline.
List of eligible capital projects for 2025 proposals include:
- Grant Park Beverly Cleary Sculpture Garden and Fountain – Fundraising Goal: $500,000
Funds will be used to replace and repair stone plaques, repair plumbing and fountain features, and fix drainage issues at the Beverly Cleary Sculpture Garden and Fountain in Grant Park. - Mt. Tabor Park Picnic Shelter – Fundraising Goal: $850,000
Funds will support rebuilding the Mt. Tabor Park picnic shelter, which was destroyed during the 2024 snow, ice, and windstorm.
The application window for 2025 closed March 9th, and proposals are currently under review. Please check back in January 2026 for next year's list of eligible projects.
We appreciate your support!
Fundraising Partnerships with the Portland Parks Foundation
Portland Parks & Recreation, in partnership with the Portland Parks Foundation (PPF), accepts fundraising proposals for large-scale projects exceeding $1 million.
To be considered, projects must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Address a critical need (e.g., inequities, safety concerns, high likelihood of closure, service gaps, or alignment with an ongoing effort).
- Be a large-scale project that requires a coalition of partners and PPF's fundraising support.
- Include a clear fundraising plan.
- Demonstrate a strong likelihood of receiving grant funding in addition to community fundraising efforts.
The Portland Parks Foundation’s Everybody Plays Playground Campaign is our current fundraising partnership.
For questions, contact Jessica Green, Executive Director of Portland Parks Foundation, at jgreen@portlandpf.org or 503.445.0994.
The application for the next PPF fundraising partnership will be posted here when the current campaign is complete.
