Located just minutes from downtown Portland, Pittock’s beautiful natural setting, incredible overlook, historic Pittock Mansion, and the proximity to Forest Park make it a natural destination for hundreds of thousands visitors each year.
The project includes historic restoration of Keller Fountain Park, Pettygrove Park, Lovejoy Fountain Park, and the Source Fountain. This project is in partnership with the Halprin Landscape Conservancy and funded by the Portland Open Space Sequence Local Improvement District and the City of Portland
Portland Parks & Recreation has begun to shape the future of the South Park Blocks; one of Portland’s oldest and most popular parks. Rows of tall trees, native plantings, and colorful roses will remain key features, while we consider updates to make the blocks more welcoming and accessible for all.
This section of the Willamette Greenway Trail, the South Waterfront North Reach, will connect people to the Willamette River and help to restore habitat for fish and wildlife in the South Waterfront District and beyond.
The Sellwood Gap (SE Umatilla to SE 13th Avenue) trail project will help close the gap between the Springwater on the Willamette Trail with the Springwater Corridor Trail by providing an off-street 12-foot path parallel to the Oregon Pacific mainline track from SE Umatilla to SE 13th Avenue.
A new playground area, pathways, irrigation improvements, and other park amenities were added to Verdell Burdine Rutherford Park, thanks to funding from the Parks Replacement Bond and System Development Charges. Verdell Burdine Rutherford Park is located at SE 167th Avenue and SE Market Street.
