Montavilla Community Center HVAC Project

Parks
Completed
Thanks to funding from the Parks Replacement Bond, Montavilla Community Center got a new roof and new heating/cooling units (HVAC).

Project Overview

The lower roof, added to the gymnasium with the facility expansion in 1956, is no longer shedding water and is not performing as required for current state energy code. Water ponding on the roof has led to leaks and maintenance problems during extreme weather.  The HVAC units are beyond their service life and are inadequate to the demands of the space (which are amplified by the lack of roofing insulation).

This project will replace the existing lower roof and HVAC units to improve the service of the building. It will also add critical worker safety protections and re-work the drainage system to facilitate maintenance.
