Over the next month, a crew will work to install a curtain drain system along Southwest 18th Avenue, adjacent to Providence Park Stadium. The new drain system will allow groundwater under the road to more efficiently pass through the soil and under the stadium.

The work, taking place directly in front of Providence Sports Care Center at 909 SW 18th Ave., is underway and is scheduled to occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work possible. The project is expected to be wrapped up by May 6, 2022.

Passersby may see and hear a sonic drill rig, a waste disposal bin and various support equipment. The equipment and 24-hour security will remain onsite for the duration of the project.

While vehicular traffic impacts are not anticipated, there are pedestrian detours in place and the bus stop on Southwest 18th Avenue will be closed during construction. Sidewalks will be reopened for game days.
