Portland Charter Commission recommends additional Charter amendments, concludes two-year appointment
The Portland Charter Commission, appointed by City Council in December 2020, concluded their two-year term today, referring nine proposals to the November 2024 election and recommending six proposals to Portland City Council.

One of three major changes headed to Portland’s city government is the establishment of four geographic districts for future city council elections. An Independent District Commission made up of Portland residents will be charged with preparing the district plan. Applications are due Dec. 1, 2022.
