Effective Communication Resources

Effective communication is the mechanism in which we ensure people with disabilities are able to receive and give information to government in a way that is readily available and meets the means of their particular disability.

Complaints

The city of Portland will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its activities, programs, and services. If you are subject to discrimination by anyone acting on behalf of the city or any program plan or service provided by the city you have the right to file a complaint through our administrative process. You also have the right to complain to a higher authority. The following will help you navigate the complaint process.

Disability Justice and Intersectionality

On April Fifth, 2022, staff from the Office of Equity and Human Rights and the Bureau of Community and Civic Life conducted a training for City staff on disability justice and intersectionality.
