Central City Roundtable

Label: Information
The Central City Roundtable works to strengthen Portland's urban core and accelerate its long‑term recovery. It brings together partners from business, real estate, arts and culture, education, philanthropy, and community institutions.

A strong central city is essential to Portland's economic health, cultural identity, and long‑term regional competitiveness.

The Portland Central City Roundtable is a cross‑sector leadership group working to strengthen Portland's urban core and accelerate its long‑term recovery. Bringing together partners from business, real estate, arts and culture, education, philanthropy, and community institutions, the Roundtable provides a coordinated space for leaders to align on shared priorities to support a vibrant, resilient, and competitive central city.

Purpose and Approach

The Roundtable focuses on advancing the shared goals outlined in All In On Portland's Central City to enhance public life, economic opportunity, and community well‑being. By aligning public and private partners, the group works to identify barriers, coordinate investment, and champion initiatives that contribute to a thriving downtown on both sides of the Willamette River.

This collaborative model recognizes that Portland's future depends on creativity, accountability, and a willingness to work across traditional boundaries. The Roundtable serves as a forum where leaders can bring forward challenges, opportunities, and solutions that strengthen the city's long‑term competitiveness.

Leadership and Collaboration

Co‑chaired by Mayor Keith Wilson and Nolan Lienhart, Director of Planning and Urban Design at ZGF Architects, the Roundtable includes senior leaders from across the region's civic, cultural, and economic landscape. Together, they help guide strategies that build on recent momentum — from cultural investments to major development initiatives — and ensure that progress in the central city is coordinated, transparent, and community‑focused.
