Hillsdale North Sewer Project

Environmental Services has paused a project to repair approximately 8,571 feet (or 1.62 linear miles) of aging public sewer pipes throughout the Hillsdale neighborhood in Southwest Portland. Taking these actions now will help protect public health and the environment.
Construction will begin in fall of 2025
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will build new crossings with signals along NE 122nd Avenue near the intersections of Davis and Clinton streets.
Study completion expected Spring 2025
A feasibility study is underway which will produce market, financial, and operational analyses to determine a sustainable operating plan for IFCC – a plan that is in alignment with the community’s vision.

SE Ivon Street Sewer Extension

This project is currently in construction and will be complete by the end of June.
Environmental Services is in construction on a project to extend the public sewer 180 feet into SE Ivon Street between SE 12th and SE 14th avenues. This will resolve nonconforming sewer connections and provide properties independent connections to the public sewer.

The Flanders Connector at NW Naito and Glisan seeks to provide a new crossing for pedestrians and people biking at Naito Parkway, connecting Waterfront Park to the Flanders Greenway.
The majority of this project is in design. Construction on the planter at SE Holgate Blvd east of SE 122nd Ave will begin at the end of May 2025 and take up to two weeks to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project in your neighborhood to assess, improve, replace, or repair 45 green street planters that were built in the last 16 years. Many have eroding or sinking soils, which can lead to other problems. Planter renovation will protect public health and safety.

Elk Rock Pump Station Project

Construction has started and will take up to two years to complete.
Environmental Service is in construction on a project to upgrade the Elk Rock Pump Station. The existing pump station will be expanded to increase storage and pumping capacity while improving reliability and safety. This upgrade will protect public health and the environment.

Lair Hill Sewer Project

This project has been paused. Construction is not expected to begin until 2031.
The Lair Hill Sewer Project will replace or repair aging sewer pipes and extend the public sewer system in the Lair Hill Neighborhood. This project will protect public health and the environment by reducing the possibility of sewage releases to homes, businesses, and streets.

Hillsdale Northwest Sewer Project

Construction is anticipated to begin in 2029 and take a year and a half to complete.
Environmental Services, your sewer and stormwater utility, is beginning the design stage of the Hillsdale Northwest Sewer Project. This project will repair or replace approximately 8,313 feet of 100–120-year-old public sewer pipes throughout your neighborhood.
Construction is currently expected to begin December 2025 and take up to two years to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to install and upsize public sewer pipes within the Kerns neighborhood and a small portion of the Buckman neighborhood. These improvements will increase sewer capacity, relieve sewer backups, and reduce street flooding.
