The City of Portland has unveiled its top priorities for the upcoming 2025 session of the Oregon State Legislature, focusing on issues tied to city operations and responsibilities that are of utmost importance to Portlanders.

“Portlanders have been clear that housing affordability and homelessness are top priorities for our city and state,” says Evyn Mitchell, state relations manager for the city. “To that end, the city of Portland continues to center housing production and effective sheltering as core priorities.”

Other top priorities include:

  • Revitalizing our neighborhoods and commercial districts
  • Vital services such as police, fire, and 9-1-1
  • Critical public infrastructure such as roads, sidewalks, and clean drinking water

The city develops a legislative agenda to help identify shared priorities for Mayor Keith Wilson and the City Council and guide its work with the state legislature. The legislative agenda allows the city to speak with one voice on a host of critical issues ranging from housing and homelessness to infrastructure and more.
