Working for the City of Portland is a great way to serve your community and advance your career.

As a member of our Facilities team, you’ll help take care of a wide variety of buildings that keep Portland running – from the flagship downtown Portland Building to the 911 Center, from City Hall to office buildings. You’ll also join a fun, diverse and hard-working team.

Pay and Benefits

We are currently recruiting for Facilities Maintenance Technician, with starting pay at $40.50 per hour and Facilities Worker, with starting pay at $32.22 per hour.

The City of Portland’s comprehensive benefits package include health care coverage for employees and their dependents, as well as employer-paid contributions to the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System.

Positions are represented by the District Council of Trade Unions. Read the current labor agreement.

Job Location and Hours

Most positions work from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call work and opportunities for overtime. Team members report to the Facilities headquarters at 3315 NW Yeon Ave. in industrial Northwest Portland, which offers free parking. Fieldwork may be required during your shift, including visits to multiple sites throughout Portland using a City vehicle.
