Home Fire Safety Assessment Program

Service

Portland Fire & Rescue wants to make sure your home and your family are safe! Our Home Fire Safety Assessment Program is a free home visit to assess if there are any dangers in your home that you may not be aware of. All our recommendations are just that, recommendations. We will take the time to discuss in detail what you can do to protect your home and family from fire, trip and fall hazards, Carbon Monoxide poisoning and any other hazards that we identify during the assessment. Please follow this link to reference our home safety checklist.

In addition to this assessment program we have a Smoke Alarm Installation Program. If you need assistance with smoke alarms, we can provide and install them at no cost. Please call or email using the Smoke Alarm Hotline contact info on the right side of this page.

We also provide an ADA Accessible Smoke Alarm Program. The program is purely voluntary and is offered to people with qualified disabilities under the American with Disabilities Act, specifically those deaf or hard of hearing. This program is only for persons living in the City of Portland.
