Station 19

Information
Station 19 serves the Montavilla and Mt. Tabor communities.

Station 19 – Mount Tabor

Station 19 is located at 7301 East Burnside St. Engine 19 has a large and very diverse response area and subsequently is a very busy station. From the stations’ location, Engine and Rescue 19 respond east to I-205, west to 47th Ave., south to Division Street, and north to Tillamook Street. In 2011 Station 19 celebrated its 100-year anniversary. The station was originally located at S.E. 61st and Stark until it moved in December 1953 to its current location. Station 19 received an extensive remodel in 2004 for seismic and building upgrades. Station 19 is proud to have an active role in emergency response and community participation from its strategic location within the City of Portland. The station often competes in the annual soapbox derby on Mount Tabor. Mount Tabor is a large volcanic cinder cone which occupies a significant percentage of the stations’ response area. Situated on Mount Tabor are several of the City’s water reservoirs and because of these unique features the station has adopted the nickname “The Reservoir Dogs”. If the weather is decent, these “reservoir dogs” can often be seen running the stairs in the park to stay in shape.
