Programs
The Community Health Section manages health initiatives within PF&R. Our mission is to provide education & outreach to community members, sending the right responder to the right calls. Programs are: Community Health Assess and Treat (CHAT), Portland Street Response (PSR), and Community Connect.
Fire Prevention is probably the most effective means for reducing loss of life and property due to fire. Portland Fire & Rescue's Prevention Division works with design professionals, contractors, building owners and managers, event promoters to ensure compliance with all fire code and standards.

Neighborhood Emergency Teams are Portland residents trained by PBEM and Portland Fire & Rescue to provide emergency disaster assistance within their own neighborhoods.
Portland Street Response, a program within Portland Fire & Rescue, assists people experiencing mental health and behavioral health crises.
The program is currently responding citywide and you can request our service by calling 911.
