Are you a young woman between the ages of 16 and 22? Want to learn about a career in firefighting? Apply for the Portland Metro Fire Camp for women.

Portland Metro Fire Camp is planning for 2024!

Do you know any young women ages 16-22 who would make good firefighters? Maybe you're one yourself! We are so excited to be able to host our annual camp next year. Applications will open early 2024!

This FREE three-day camp is an opportunity to experience the unique aspects of being a firefighter in an all-female environment. 

Work stations will include:

  • Search and rescue
  • Jaws of Life operation
  • Climbing the aerial ladder
  • Fire hose operation
  • Forcing doors

Young women will also learn about nutrition, physical fitness, interview skills, and more.

Please note that PMFC 2024 is subject to change dependent upon Covid-19 transmission levels in the community at the time camp is to be held. The PMFC board is working diligently with the leadership of Portland Fire & Rescue and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue to ensure camp is as safe as possible and can be held as planned.
