October 3 City statement in response to federal inquiry from U.S. Department of Justice
Published

The City of Portland received a formal inquiry from the U.S. Department of Justice while we were in court attempting to stop the unlawful National Guard deployment in Oregon. We are still reviewing this inquiry and do not have a comment at this time on specific requests lodged by the federal government. What we can say is this: Mayor Wilson has full faith in the Portland Police Bureau's commitment to protecting public safety, upholding the rights of all individuals to lawfully assemble, and impartially enforcing the law.

Hear Portland Police Chief Bob Day address the disorderly conduct arrest referenced in the federal inquiry.
