Instructions to report building energy information

The information on this site will help you comply with the City of Portland’s energy performance reporting requirements. This easy process must be completed by April 22 each year for the prior calendar year.

Portland’s Commercial Building Energy Reporting policy requires property owners of commercial buildings 20,000 square feet and larger to track and report energy performance information annually. Please review the information carefully to ensure that your report is submitted without any errors.

Reports are due by April 22 each year and cover the previous calendar year.

New users

Returning users

If you have reported energy use as part of the City of Portland Commercial Building Energy Reporting requirement in the past or are familiar with commercial benchmarking/reporting in ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager®, you may use the Energy Reporting for Returning Users page. This offers basic instructions and the overall steps required to help ensure that you are in compliance with the program.
