Campaign allegation about Portland United PAC’s website substantiated

The City Auditor’s Office issued a warning to political committee Portland United PAC for not disclosing required funding information in an acceptable font size on its website.
The Elections Office investigated a complaint about Portland United PAC’s website and substantiated one of two allegations. A voter-approved Charter amendment requires that campaign-related materials disclose contributors in a font size that is the same size or larger as the majority of text. The Elections Officer determined that Portland United PAC’s website did not comply with that requirement but did not find evidence to support a second allegation that the color of the text violated campaign regulations.
The determination letter for Complaint No. 2022-02-PU is posted on the City Elections Office website.
More information about the City’s campaign regulations can be found in City Charter Chapter 3, Article 3 and Portland City Code Title 2, Chapter 2.10.
