City Council introduces public webpage for tracking legislation and actions.

In support of Portland's Core Values of Transparency and Communication, City Council President Dunphy is pleased to introduce the new public Council Documents webpage.
The Council Documents webpage provides the community with easy access to current and upcoming legislation under consideration by City Council. Visitors can search and filter items by Councilor, Committee, City department, scheduled date, and more – making it simpler than ever to stay informed about City business.
This page delivers two major improvements to public transparency:
Earlier visibility into legislation.
Previously, legislative items became visible to the public once they were formally scheduled on a Council or committee agenda. Now, community members can view and read legislation under consideration, even if it has not yet been scheduled for a hearing.
Earlier insight into Council's schedule.
In the past, the public learned about upcoming Council or committee items by reviewing official agendas, which are published five days before a meeting. With this new tool, the public can now see a list of items to be considered by Council twelve days in advance (covering two meetings), updated every Friday at 9:00 AM. These tentative schedules are subject to change as needed.
The Council Documents page is also the community's go‑to place for learning about actions taken by City Council on agenda items. The past documents page provides official records of Council actions on ordinances, resolutions, reports, presentations, and public hearings dating back to July 2021, offering a clear and accessible history of Council decision‑making.
