Changes to credit and debit card processing fees

Starting June 3, 2025, customers who use a credit or debit card to pay their sewer, stormwater, and water bill will pay a 2.95% processing fee. To avoid this fee, customers can make an electronic payment directly from their bank account. Learn more.

Portland City Council continues deliberations this week to finalize the city's $8.5 billion budget for the financial year that starts July 1. After making some key decisions last month, council will host two more meetings as well as a public hearing with the Tax Supervising & Conservation Commission Public Hearing this week. 

City Council will convene again on June 18 for their final vote on the budget.

Tuesday, June 10

Tax Supervising & Conservation Commission Public Hearing  9:30 am – 11:30 am The day begins with a hearing led by the Tax Supervising & Conservation Commission (TSCC), an independent, impartial panel of community volunteers that ensures Portland’s budget complies with state financial laws. Commissioners will review the city’s proposed budget, ask questions, and provide public insight on key financial decisions. Stream the meeting here.

Special City Council Meeting 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm Following the TSCC hearing, council will convene for a special meeting focusing on budget amendments. Councilors will discuss proposed changes, finalize priorities, and consider adjustments ahead of the final budget vote later this month. They will recess the meeting to continue the next day.

Wednesday, June 11

Council Meeting 9:30 am – 6:00 pm A continuation of the previous meeting, this full-day meeting will be the final chance to discuss and vote on amendments. The budget must be balanced by the end of the meeting. Stream the meeting here.
