Subject: Accept 2021 Annual Report of the Portland Police Bureau’s report to City Council
Police Chief Charles Lovell will present the annual report on the Bureau's service measures and accomplishments for 2021.
This annual report to Council is a requirement of the DOJ Amended Settlement. The report details the activities, accomplishments and challenges faced by the Portland Police Bureau while providing policing services to the Portland community.

Purpose of proposed legislation and background information
Pursuant to paragraph 150 of the Settlement Agreement in United States of America v. City of Portland, Case No. 3:12-cv-02265-SI, as amended, PPB was directed to issue a publicly available annual report which included a summary of its problem-solving and community policing activities.
Financial and budgetary impacts
No budgetary impact.
Community impacts and community involvement
Prior to the 2021 Report being finalized and publicly released, it was provided to the PCCEP for its review and comments and will be revised in response to any feedback received, or those comments will be incorporated into future reporting. The Bureau is holding meetings in each precinct area on the 2021 Report.
