As Mayor, I request Council confirmation of the following reappointment to the Building Code Board of Appeal.
The Building Code Board of Appeal consists of 3 regular members and 3 alternates. All members must be qualified by experience and training to make decisions on matters pertaining to building code issues. I am recommending a candidate for reappointment to a position as an alternate on the Building Code Board of Appeal for 3-year term running from June 3, 2023 through June 2, 2026.

Biography:
Sam Rodriguez has over 20 years of experience as a real estate developer and architect. He is the managing director of Mill Creek Residential Trust, and is a LEED-accredited architect. He has worked on numerous high-profile projects over the years, including the MAC Club and the Savier Street Flats.
Statement of Interest:
“I love the opportunity to help the city anyway I can with my expertise. I find participating in advisory groups like this as much a giving as a learning opportunity.”
This candidate brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the Building Code Board of Appeal in support of the Bureau of Development Services, the other City development bureaus, the development community, and all Portlanders.
With this appointment, all the positions on the Board will remain filled.
