Update salary grade for Information Systems Manager II, Information Systems Manager III, and Information Security Manager classifications
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
- In accordance with the policies established by the City Council and based on a classification and compensation review, the Bureau of Human Resources is changing the salary grade of the Information Systems Manager II and Information Systems Manager III classifications, effective 30 days after final approval by City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:
- The following compensation rates are changed, effective 30 days after final approval by City Council:

Purpose of Proposed Legislation and Background Information
At the request of the Bureau of Technology Services, a review of the pay grade for the Information Systems Manager II, Information Systems Manager III, and Information Security Manager was conducted. The salary grade of the classification was found to be out of alignment with internal classifications that hold comparable authority and responsibility.
Financial and Budgetary Impacts
There is no immediate fiscal impact as individual salaries will not be changing. The annual maximum rate for the Information Systems Manager II classification is currently $168,792. This ordinance will raise the annual maximum rate to $180,107.20, an increase of $11,315.20. The annual maximum rate for the Information Systems Manager III classification and Information Security Manager is currently $180,107.20. This ordinance will raise the annual maximum rate to $210,433.60, an increase of $30,326.40.
