I spent time at the Goose Hollow Foothills League (Neighborhood Association) last Thursday at the Multnomah Athletic Club to share my priorities and to discuss Moda Center renovations, restoring storefronts, promoting their summer events, and improving response times for first responders. I'll be back again in Goose Hollow next week. Read on for details.

You're invited to meet Portland City Councilor Mitch Green and County Commissioner Meghan Moyer at Bold Coffee & Books, a cozy and grounded community gathering space in Goose Hollow on Tuesday, July 28th.
This will be a chance to connect with community, learn more about the differences between the County and City, receive district updates, and share your thoughts and questions.

Save Our Services comes to City Council July 22nd, for a final vote
My colleagues demonstrated the value of our final ordinance to save services and restore jobs during its first reading last week. We had the support of our community members who used their verbal and written testimonies to communicate to the Council that they deeply care about safeguarding the police accountability fund, protecting our parks, restoring front line positions, and ensuring we find a way to get this legislation over the finish line. Our ordinance combined budget priorities that were communicated by most councilors to offer the most range among the two competing ordinances on the table.
Portlanders also told Council to reject austerity and find a way to move forward to protect frontline workers and critical services. In the spirit of compromise, we approved Councilor Morillo's amendment (Morillo 1), answering the call of Portlanders who were asking councilors to find a path to "yes."
This compromise restores 55 frontline positions across key bureaus, maintains 24-hour operations for three Fire & Rescue units, and renews public safety training funding for PPB.
I want to thank my colleagues for voting "yes" on this amendment: Council President Jamie Dunphy, Council Vice-President Olivia Clark, Councilor Angelita Morillo, Councilor Candace Avalos, Councilor Sameer Kanal, Councilor Tiffany Koyama-Lane, Councilor Dan Ryan, Councilor Loretta Smith, and Councilor Eric Zimmerman. Please encourage your councilors to vote for the underlying ordinance in this package.
Save Our Services now moves to its second reading for vote on Wednesday, July 22nd.
