Councilors Mitch Green, Angelita Morillo, Jamie Dunphy and Tiffany Koyama Lane introduced a resolution, 2025-070, regarding Zenith Energy to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on March 10, 2025. The resolution received the votes to be referred to an upcoming Council Meeting. Councilors are requesting to be added to the agenda for Wednesday, March 19.

Koyama Lane said, "I share my constituents' questions and concerns about power, and who has access to play a role in our City government. I think this brings up important questions about who's able to directly intervene or play a role in City business and who is not." Koyama Lane is Council Vice President and Chair of the Governance Committee.

Morillo had few questions and comments about the resolution she co-authored and said, "I just want to say a big thanks to the advocates who have pushed us as City Councilors to really dig into this issue." Morillo acknowledged Dunphy who is not a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee but was seated in the back of Council Chambers as a supporter of the resolution wearing red like many of the environmental advocates in attendance.

Before making the motion for a vote, Green said, "The decisions we make today are going to affect the generations that live here tomorrow and their children as well. We owe it to our city to get it right."

The Motion to recommend 2025-070 to full Council with recommendation to be adopted was moved by Green and seconded by Koyama Lane. (Aye-Koyama Lane, Green, Morillo; Absent (Smith, Clark))
