The work session will explore the topic more broadly than the most immediate step in Zenith's development plans: a request for a new Land Use Compatibility Statement (LUCS) from the City of Portland. The company requested an updated statement on Dec. 17, at the direction of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, to help the state make an informed decision regarding an air quality permit. On December 17, Portland Permitting & Development received Zenith's latest request and is processing it.
Work sessions are public meetings about a specific topic where information is presented to the Council. Council does not vote or take action at a work session. The public and press may attend work sessions when held in person or watch the live broadcast online or on cable TV. Information on how to view the work session online can be found here.
