Councilor Candace Avalos statement on sanctuary city lawsuit

“Today, Portland joins a coalition of local governments who are suing the presidential administration for using executive action to punish cities and states with sanctuary policies. As the daughter of immigrants, this is personal. You can count on me to stand up for our city, our community, and our rights. President Trump thinks he can bully us like he tried to in 2020, but we are stronger than ever and prepared to fight back.”
