NE Halsey Street (68th to 92nd avenues) - Safety and Access to Transit Project

As part of the Water Bureau's efforts to increase the amount of water available on Portland's west side for firefighting and earthquake preparedness, we will construct a new 175,000-gallon water storage tank in Forest Park.

NE 60th Avenue and Halsey Street Area Improvement Project

Crews and contractors with the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will repave, add traffic signals and turn lanes, widen sidewalks, and build bike improvements along NE 60th Avenue and Halsey Street. This will improve traffic flow and make it safer for pedestrians and people biking or driving.
70s Greenway: Cully Connector

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) and Metro are partnering to make NE 72nd Avenue safe and comfortable for pedestrians and people biking by building a neighborhood greenway through the heart of the Cully and Roseway neighborhoods from NE Lombard Street and Sandy Boulevard.
NE 97th Avenue and Couch/Davis Street Local Improvement District

This Local Improvement District (LID) will construct street, sidewalk, and stormwater improvements on portions of NE 97th Avenue and on E Burnside, NE Davis, and NE Couch streets.
Irving Park Stormwater Project

Nature patch work was completed in February 2021. Construction of the rain gardens and green street planters is expected to be complete by the end of March 2024.
Environmental Services and Portland Parks & Recreation are collaborating on a project to build nature patches and rain gardens to manage stormwater in Irving Park. The project will help prevent nearby flooding, sewer basement backups, and sewage overflows into the Willamette River during storms.
South Portland-Burlingame Sewer Project

Construction began in June 2023 and will take up to a year and a half to complete.
Environmental Services is constructing a project in the South Portland and South Burlingame neighborhoods that will repair approximately 7,108 linear feet of aging public sewer pipes, that are on average 90 years old. This will help protect public health and the Willamette River Watershed.
Cully Neighborhood Street Improvement Project

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will improve several streets in the Cully neighborhood by paving gravel streets, adding sidewalks, and traffic calming. The Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) and Portland Water Bureau (PWB) are project partners, upgrading area infrastructure.
Tryon-Stephens Neighborhood Street Improvement Project- SW Galeburn: SW Capitol Highway to SW 41st Ave Street Improvement Project

Tryon-Stephens Neighborhood Street Improvement Project- SW Capitol Hill Rd

NW 9th and Hoyt Sewer and Water Pipe Improvement Project

Design has been completed. Construction is expected to begin in April or May of 2024 and should take about six months to complete.
Environmental Services, in partnership with the Portland Water Bureau, has completed design on a project to upgrade infrastructure in NW Portland. This project will increase system capacity, reduce the risk of sewer discharges, and improve earthquake resilience for our critical infrastructure.
Hillsdale Middle Sewer Project

Construction is anticipated to begin in Summer 2024 and will last a year.
Environmental Services is in the design phase of the Hillsdale Middle Sewer Project. This project will repair or replace approximately 11,897 feet of aging public sewer pipes throughout the neighborhood. Taking these actions now will help protect public health and the environment.
NE 6th Drive Pump Station Project

The project is starting construction and will take about two years to complete.
Environmental Services is constructing a project to expand and remodel the 44-year-old NE 6th Drive Pump Station in the East Columbia neighborhood. The upgrades will modernize equipment, increase system capacity, and protect public health and the environment.
Berrydale Park Improvement Project

Skatepark and other robust improvements are planned for Berrydale Park in Southeast Portland.
