Capital Improvement Project
Summer 2022 to Fall 2023
Engineering and design
The Water Bureau will install 3,350 feet of water main (pipe) in southwest Portland. The pipes are aging and pass underneath the I-5 freeway and SW Barbur Boulevard, where a failure of these older pipes could cause major problems. This project will benefit over 42,000 people served by the main.

Planning to begin in 2022
Upcoming
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will create the NE Knott-Sacramento Neighborhood Greenway to establish low-stress neighborhood streets that are great places to walk, bike, roll, and play. This East-West greenway will connect the Parkrose Heights, Russell, and Wilkes neighborhoods.
