This intersection safety project will rebuild the signal at SE Flavel and SE 72nd to include dedicated left hand turns and will add additional illumination to the intersection. The project will also update corner ramps to current ADA standards and improve poor pavement conditions.

NE Killingsworth Safer Crossings Project

PBOT will install nine safer crossings on NE Killingsworth including pedestrian islands and curb extensions. This project is in design and will construct the crossings in the summer of 2024 and summer 2025.
This project is in the early phases of design. Construction is not expected until 2025.
Environmental Services - your sewer and stormwater utility - is working with the U.S Army Corps of Engineers to replace an undersized culvert that carries Tryon Creek under Highway 43 out to the Willamette River. This project will reopen Tryon Creek to migrating salmon.

NE MLK and Russell Sewer Project

Construction is expected to start in June 2024 and take about four months to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to upsize 583 feet of sewer pipe, replace 20 public sewer connections to private property, and add three new maintenance holes in the Eliot neighborhood. These improvements will reduce the possibility of sewage releases to buildings and streets.

SE Oak and 2nd Sewer Project

Sewer construction is complete. Paving remains but has not been scheduled.
Environmental Services is constructing a project to repair 200 feet of main public sewer pipes on SE Oak Street between SE 2nd Avenue and the railroad tracks. This project will reduce the possibility of sewage releases to homes, businesses, and streets.
The Bureau of Environmental Services is investigating conditions of the stormwater system in Marquam Park & Council Crest and exploring options for improvement and rehabilitation. This project will help ensure that stormwater and sewer systems in the area have adequate capacity in major storms.

NE Rocky Butte Rd and 92nd Ave Sewer Repair

Project design and investigations will continue through spring 2024. Construction may begin as soon as June 2024 and could take up to three months to complete.
Environmental Services is continuing to design a project to repair 1,157 feet of public sewer pipe that is in poor condition. These repairs will protect public health by reducing the risk of basement flooding and sewage releases to homes and streets.

SE 38th Ave and Market St Sewer Project

This project is currently in design and construction is not anticipated to begin until early winter 2025.
Environmental Services is designing a project to replace more than 650 feet of 111-year-old public sewer pipe in SE 38th Avenue and SE Market Street. This work will protect public health by reducing the risk of basement flooding and sewage releases to homes and streets.
