South Corbett and Carolina Sewer Repair Project

Construction is anticipated to start in early-Summer 2024 and will take up to four months to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a sewer project to replace 250 feet of aging pipes near private properties within the Corbett neighborhood. This project will protect public health and the environment by reducing the possibility of sewage releases to homes, businesses, and streets.
Project design began in 2019 and will continue through 2024. Construction is expected to begin in early March 2025 and will be completed by mid-February 2026.
Environmental Services is designing a project to restore about 18 acres in the Johnson Creek floodplain. The project will reconnect Johnson Creek to its historic floodplain, reduce flooding on private property, restore habitat for fish and wildlife, and improve water quality in the creek.
Mt. Scott Community Center Seismic Retrofit and Expansion Project

Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) is preparing to rehabilitate and expand Mt. Scott Community Center (MSCC) to better serve current and future generations of Portlanders. The existing Mt. Scott pool and gymnasium will remain as is, along with the popular indoor skating rink.

The Portland Water Bureau is building a new water filtration facility and pipelines that will be key components of a more resilient water system. The filtration facility and pipelines are needed to meet federal and state drinking water regulations and will be in operation by Sept. 30, 2027.

Sellwood Sewer Extension Project

Environmental Services is designing a sewer project to extend the public sewer system throughout the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhoods. This work is part of the City’s effort to provide property owners a way to directly and independently connect to the sewer system to meet current plumbing code.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will be repaving NE Cornfoot Road from Airtrans Way to Alderwood Road. Upgrade streetlights and install guardrails. A second project phase in 2026 will add a multi-use path on the north side for people walking and biking.
