PBOT will be improving several local streets in the Tryon Creek and Stephens Creek watersheds in southwest Portland by paving gravel streets, adding sidewalks or walkways, or a combination. Funding comes from the Local Transportation Infrastructure Charge (LTIC) and other sources.
Capital Improvement Project
Spring 2022 to winter 2023
The Water Bureau will upgrade the Hypochlorite Building at Washington Park Reservoirs. Aside from exterior doors, upgrades will happen inside the building. Built in 1981, this simple structure fulfills another critical role: allowing us to serve clean and safe water to the west side of Portland.
Construction from August 2021 to Spring 2022
Structural and/or maintenance upgrades for both tunnels to increase the integrity and longevity of both tunnels. Both tunnels will receive lighting upgrades also.
Planning to begin in 2022
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will create the NE Knott-Sacramento Neighborhood Greenway to establish low-stress neighborhood streets that are great places to walk, bike, roll, and play. This East-West greenway will connect the Parkrose Heights, Russell, and Wilkes neighborhoods.
