SE Stark Trunk Sewer Project

This work will be completed in two phases. Construction on Phase I began June 2022 and was completed in December 2022. Construction on Phase II is expected to begin late spring 2024 and take about six months to complete.
Environmental Services is constructing a project to repair a large-diameter sewer pipe that runs along SE Stark Street between SE 6th Avenue and the Willamette River. The pipe known as the "Stark Trunk" is over 110 years old and is in need of repair to prevent sewer and stormwater overflows.
Johnson Creek Oxbow Restoration Project

The project is in the design phase. Construction is expected to begin in 2026.
We are designing a project to restore habitat and reconnect Johnson Creek and Errol Creek with their natural floodplains. This work will help protect endangered salmon, improve water quality, provide habitat for birds and other wildlife, and reduce flood risk in the surrounding neighborhood.
Sunnyside South Green Street and Sewer Project

Environmental Services is constructing a project that will install and upsize public sewer pipes, as well as construct green street planters, in the Sunnyside neighborhood. These improvements will increase sewer capacity, relieve sewer backups, and reduce street flooding.
Springwater Wetlands and Floodplain Restoration Project

Design for the project began in Fall 2019. Construction is expected to begin in the Spring of 2024 and will take about a year and a half to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to enhance wetlands on about 30 acres along the Springwater Corridor Trail. The project will reduce the risk of flooding to homes, businesses and streets.

Mill Park is a 5.7 acre park next to Mill Park Elementary that has an informal soft-surface walking trail, open lawn, and mature trees, but is otherwise undeveloped. Thanks to funding from System Development Charges, PP&R now has funds to improve this park.

Environmental Services is removing aging sumps throughout the City and replacing them with new sumps and new sedimentation manholes. This work will help control stormwater runoff and sewer backups.

Environmental Services is designing a project in the Laurelhurst and North Tabor neighborhoods to repair sewer pipes and construct green street planters to manage stormwater runoff from streets and roofs. This project will relieve basement sewer backup risk and reduce street flooding in the area.
