NE 105th and Marx Pump Station Project

The project is in the design phase. Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2025 and it will take about 18 months to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to upgrade and expand the aging pump station located at NE Marx Street and 105th Avenue in the Parkrose neighborhood. The project will modernize equipment, increase system capacity, and help protect public health and the environment.

Citywide Sump Repair and Replacement

Construction began in April 2023 and will continue through April 2026. Check the webpage for regular project updates.
Environmental Services is removing aging sumps throughout the City and replacing them with new sumps and new sedimentation manholes. This work will help control stormwater runoff and sewer backups.

NE 42nd Ave Infill: Killingsworth to Holman

PBOT will be constructing sidewalks and ADA ramps on the east side of 42nd Avenue between NE Killingsworth Street and Holman Street.
Project design continues. Construction is anticipated to begin in June of 2024 and take up to six months to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project in the Laurelhurst and North Tabor neighborhoods to repair sewer pipes and construct green street planters to manage stormwater runoff from streets and roofs. This project will relieve basement sewer backup risk and reduce street flooding in the area.
Construction is currently expected to begin January 2025 and take up to two years to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to install and upsize public sewer pipes within the Kerns neighborhood and a small portion of the Buckman neighborhood. These improvements will increase sewer capacity, relieve sewer backups, and reduce street flooding.

Grand Avenue Riser Stabilization Project

Project design is nearly complete. Construction is anticipated to begin in June of 2024 and will take up to five months to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to stabilize soils at maintenance hole risers located along Grand Avenue. Soils are settling, requiring layers of asphalt to provide safe driving surfaces. This project will design a solution to stabilize soils and prevent settlement.

Killingsworth Street Repaving and Safety Improvements

Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will repave and add safety improvements to NE Killingsworth Street from 53rd Avenue to Cully Boulevard in the summer of 2024.

North River Sewer Repair Project

Construction is expected to start September 2024 and take about 6 months to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to replace deteriorating sewer pipe under North River Street between Albina and Interstate avenues. Taking these actions now reduce the possibility of costly breaks, leaks, blockages and sewage releases to buildings, streets, streams, and rivers.

This project is in the planning phase. Planning and analysis will continue through the summer of 2024.
The Inverness pump station and force main system (The Inverness System) is nearing the end of its service life, and is in need of repair or replacement. This project will choose a preferred solution for repair and/or replacement that protects public health and the environment.
