Environmental Services is designing a project to install and replace public sewer pipes along N Going Avenue, N Going Court, N Humboldt Street, and N Greeley Street. Replacing and repairing the aging and damaged sewer pipes will help protect public health and the environment.
North River Sewer Repair Project

Environmental Services is designing a project to replace deteriorating sewer pipe under North River Street between Albina and Interstate avenues. Taking these actions now reduce the possibility of costly breaks, leaks, blockages and sewage releases to buildings, streets, streams, and rivers.

Environmental Services is designing a project to abandon a deteriorated sewer pipe under North Bradford Street between Burlington and Richmond Avenues and reroute all private connections to adjacent streets. Taking these actions now will help prevent sewage releases and improve future maintenance.

Upcoming crosswalk and ADA curb ramp improvement projects along Primary Investment Routes located within the Portland Public Schools (PPS) district. Funded by the 2012 PPS Bond.
Sewer repairs are anticipated to begin in June 2024 will take about six months to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a stormwater management project in the northern portion of the Kenton neighborhood. This project is part of a larger effort to improve water and sediment quality in the Columbia Slough.

We will replace approximately 2,200 feet of water main (pipe) with earthquake-resilient pipe. We will also replace five existing fire hydrants and install one new fire hydrant. This project will bring existing water services and backflow devices at several properties up to current City code.

Environmental Services is designing a project to repair multiple sewer lateral connections from private properties to the main sewer line. This project will reduce the risks of basement sewer backups, flooding, and emergency repairs in the future.
