SW Fourth Avenue Improvement Project

Crews and contractors with the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will reconstruct and repave SW Fourth Avenue between Lincoln and W Burnside streets. Includes safer crosswalks, upgraded ADA curb ramps, new protected bikeway, better street lighting, and a business access and transit lane.

Environmental Services has nearly completed a project to repair 10,765 feet, or two miles, of aging public sewer pipes in downtown Portland. Having provided 100 to 150 years of service, pipes require repairs to reduce risks of basement flooding and sewage releases to downtown buildings and streets.
SW Washington Street: Park Ave to 10th Sewer Project

Environmental Services will construct a sewer service lateral repair in SW Washington Street. The repair, now planned for the spring of 2024, will help prevent backups into buildings and streets.

Lower Northwest Sewer Capacity Project

Environmental Services is designing a project that will upgrade public sewer and stormwater pipes and install new water quality treatment vaults in Northwest Portland. This project will protect the public and the environment by reducing street flooding and sewage releases to homes and businesses.

Environmental Services – your sewer and stormwater bureau – is currently engaged in a pilot project that would extend an existing Local Improvement District (LID) and create stormwater treatment and management infrastructure to serve approximately 20 properties.
Ankeny Pump Station Force Main Repair Project

Repair work has begun. Excavation and repairs began in March of 2024 and should take about two to four months to complete.
Environmental Services is conducting urgent repairs on two force mains inside the Ankeny Pump Station located under the west end of the Burnside Bridge. These repairs will protect public health and the environment by reducing the chance of sewer overflows to Waterfront Park and the Willamette River.
SW Broadway Bike Improvements Project

The Portland Bureau of Transportation brought a host of improvements to SW Broadway in 2022, making it safer for all travelers. Additional improvements are coming to this high crash corridor in 2024.
