Lair Hill Neighborhood Traffic Access Management Project

This nine-month pilot project reduced cut-through traffic in the Lair Hill area south of downtown, keeping regional car traffic heading east on the Ross Island Bridge on safer routes. The project limited through-traffic on narrow residential streets from Dec. 16, 2019 through Sept. 1, 2020.
Construction: Spring 2025
PBOT will be improving several local streets in the Tryon Creek and Stephens Creek watersheds in southwest Portland by paving gravel streets, adding sidewalks or walkways, or a combination. Funding comes from the Local Transportation Infrastructure Charge (LTIC) and other sources.

SW Capitol Highway Street Lighting

This project will improve streetlighting on SW Capitol Highway and 49th from SW Barbur to Stephenson.
Construction completed in Spring 2024.
Construct a protected safer shoulder on the north side of Boones Ferry Rd from Orchard Hill Rd to Portland city limits.
Construction set to be completed in summer 2024.
Design and implement a neighborhood greenway along SW Ridge Drive and SW Wilbard Street between SW 35th Drive and SW Taylors Ferry Road. Project by the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT).

SW Troy Neighborhood Greenway

SW Taylors Ferry & SW 17th Ave Crossing Improvement

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will create a safer crossing at SW Taylors Ferry Road and SW 17th Avenue by striping a crosswalk and creating a safer walking shoulder along SW 17th from Orchid to Taylors Ferry to provide a link in the Hillsdale – Lake Oswego Trail.

SW Bertha Boulevard (SW Vermont St. to SW Barbur Blvd.)

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will reconfigure this roadway as a protected bike lane. The project limits are along S Bertha Blvd. from SW Vermont St. to SW Barbur Blvd. The intent is to reorganize the roadway to provide protected bike lanes.

SW 45th Flower Pl. to Vermont St. Pavement Project

PBOT will place new Aspalt Concrete along SW 4th. Ave. from SW Vermont St. to SW Cameron Rd. This project will also include new pedestrian crossings, multi-use paths, ADA Ramps, roadway striping and new sidewalks.
