SW Capitol Hill and Bertha Sewer Project

Environmental Services has finished designing a project to repair two sections of sewer pipe and a maintenance hole near the intersection of SW Capitol Hill Road and SW Bertha Boulevard. Taking these actions now will help protect public health and the environment.

Environmental Services is designing a project in your neighborhood to assess, improve, replace, or repair 45 green street planters that were built in the last 16 years. Many have eroding or sinking soils, which can lead to other problems. Planter renovation will protect public health and safety.

Elk Rock Pump Station Project

Environmental Service is designing a project to upgrade the 40-year-old Elk Rock Pump Station, located at the end of S Riverwood Road. Increased pumping capacity will accommodate future demands on the sewer system. Improved reliability and safety will protect public health and the environment.

Lair Hill Sewer Project

The project is currently in the design phase. Construction is expected to begin in early 2024 and should take about a year to complete.
The Lair Hill Sewer Project will replace or repair aging sewer pipes and extend the public sewer system in the Lair Hill Neighborhood. This project will protect public health and the environment by reducing the possibility of sewage releases to homes, businesses, and streets.

SW Market Street Sewer Extension

This project is currently in the design phase. Construction is expected to begin in early 2024 and should take about four to six weeks.
Environmental Services is extending the public sewer in SW Market Street. This work is part of the City’s ongoing effort to provide property owners a way to directly and independently connect to the public sewer system in order to meet current City Code requirements.
Design is currently underway. Construction is expected to take place in the late spring/early summer of 2023..
Environmental Services is designing stream and habitat improvements underneath the new Boones Ferry Bridge. This project will help support healthy habitat for fish and wildlife by allowing fish to reach upstream areas of the Tryon Creek State Natural Area and Marshall Park.

The SW Upper Drive Project is repairing or replacing aging sewer pipes in the SW Hills Residential League neighborhood. This project will protect the public and the environment by reducing the possibility of sewage releases to homes, businesses, and streets.

Hillsdale Northwest Sewer Project

Environmental Services, your sewer and stormwater utility, is beginning the design stage of the Hillsdale Northwest Sewer Project. This project will repair or replace approximately 8,313 feet of 100–120-year-old public sewer pipes throughout your neighborhood.
Design will continue through late 2023. Construction is currently expected to begin in spring 2024 and take up to three years to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to install and upsize public sewer pipes within the Kerns Neighborhood and a small portion of the Buckman Neighborhood. These improvements will increase sewer capacity, relieve sewer backups, and reduce street flooding.
