Lair Hill Neighborhood Traffic Access Management Project

This nine-month pilot project reduced cut-through traffic in the Lair Hill area south of downtown, keeping regional car traffic heading east on the Ross Island Bridge on safer routes. The project limited through-traffic on narrow residential streets from Dec. 16, 2019 through Sept. 1, 2020.

Force Avenue Pump Station Project

Design continues. Construction of the new pump station is anticipated to begin in July of 2024 and take up to a year and a half to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to remodel the 48-year-old Force Avenue Pump Station in North Portland. Increased pumping capacity will accommodate growth and future demands on the sewer system. Improved reliability, access, and safety will protect public health and the environment.
Construction will occur in the Spring of 2023.
Environmental Services has postponed construction on a sewer service lateral repair in SW Washington Street due to the need for additional design engineering. The repair, now planned for drier weather this spring, will help prevent backups into buildings and streets.

SW Main-Taylor Sewer Project

Environmental Services is constructing a project to repair 10,765 feet, or two miles, of aging public sewer pipes in downtown Portland. Having provided 100 to 150 years of service, the pipes require repairs to reduce risks of basement flooding and sewage releases to downtown buildings and streets.

SW Market-Madison Sewer Project

Project design will continue through spring of this year. Construction is anticipated to begin in July and take a year and a half to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to repair 11,720 feet (more than two miles) of public sewer pipes in downtown Portland. Having provided up to 140 years of service, the pipes require repairs to reduce the risks of basement flooding and sewage releases to downtown buildings and streets.

NW Westover Road Sewer Repairs

Construction began in September 2022 and will continue through the Spring of 2023.
Environmental Services continues construction on a project to build almost 1,600 feet of public sewer improvements in NW Westover Road, NW Summit Avenue, and NW Lovejoy Street. This project will reduce risks of basement sewer backups and street flooding.
