Inverness Pump Station Electrical Upgrade Project

Construction is expected to begin in the Summer of 2027 and will take approximately six to eight months to complete.
This project will upgrade the electrical system at the Inverness Pump Station. It is part of the broader Inverness Pump Station and Force Main Improvement Program. This work will protect public health and the environment by helping to improve reliability, access, and safety.

N Charleston Traffic Diversion Pilot Project

This pilot will test diversion to reduce high vehicle volumes on the N Charleston neighborhood greenway. Changes will improve the safety and comfort of people walking and biking, particularly for children, and is part of the Neighborhood Greenway Bike Bus Project

SW 17th and High Sewer Project

This project is in the design phase. Construction is expected to begin in 2027.
Environmental Services is designing a project to create a long lasting repair to a failing sewer pipe in SW High Street. This project will protect public health and the environment by helping to prevent sewer and stormwater overflows to homes, businesses, and streets.

SW Newby Terrace Stormwater Pipe Repair

Construction is expected to start April 2027 and take about three months to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to replace about 400 feet of deteriorated stormwater pipe on SW Newby Terrace. The new pipe will maintain flow to Ivey Creek, just west of Dosch Road, improve maintenance access, and reduce the need for future emergency repairs.

The Water Bureau is investing in reliable water supply in South Portland. We will replace 980 feet of water main (pipe) and two hydrants on South Macadam Avenue between South Bancroft Street and South Lane Street.

Southwest Quail Post Road LID

The Water Bureau will build new connections between the Quail Park subdivision's privately owned water system and the City's existing public water system. We will also replace the Quail Park water system when it reaches the end of its useful life, or by 2039 (whichever comes first).
