The Portland Water Bureau is building a new water filtration facility and pipelines that will be key components of a more resilient water system. The filtration facility and pipelines are needed to meet federal and state drinking water regulations.

Sellwood Sewer Extension Project

Major sewer construction is complete. Some small tasks remain, such as spot paving, concrete curb repairs, and general site cleanup. These will be finished as weather conditions and subcontractor availability allow.
Environmental Services has completed a project to extend the public sewer system throughout the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhoods. This work is part of the City’s effort to provide property owners a way to directly and independently connect to the sewer system to meet current plumbing code.

NE 42nd Avenue Bridge Replacement (over Lombard Street)

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is constructing a new earthquake-ready bridge to provide better access for freight, pedestrians, and people biking. Bridge will fill the gap between the Holman Neighborhood Greenway and the NE 47th Avenue protected bikeway.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is improving safety and access along NE Halsey Street from NE 80th to NE 92nd avenues. We'll add new sidewalks, upgraded crossings, bike lanes, improved curb ramps and more. These changes will make it easier and safer for everyone to travel on NE Halsey.

West Portland Town Center Stormwater Systems Plan (WPTCSSP)

Environmental Services is in the planning stages for a new stormwater systems plan for West Portland Town Center (WPTC). The plan will investigate current conditions of stormwater systems, including streams in the area, to explore options for necessary improvements in the WPTC planning area.

NE 60th Avenue and Halsey Street Area Improvement Project

PBOT will repave sections of street, replace outdated traffic signals, add turning lanes, improve sidewalks, and build pedestrian and crossing enhancements. We aim to improve traffic flow and make the street more safe for people walking, riding transit, biking, and traveling by vehicle.

SW Alder Street Bikeway Project

Final element in design; construction tentative for summer 2026
The final phase of the SW/NW 20th Ave Greenway project connects the SW Alder Street and SW 17th Avenue bikeways with a two-way bike lane on SW Alder Street between SW 16th and 17th avenues. Parking and operational changes on SW Alder Street may accompany the project.
