Environmental Services and Portland Parks & Recreation collaborated on a project to build nature patches and rain gardens to manage stormwater in Irving Park. The project will help prevent nearby flooding, sewer basement backups, and sewage overflows into the Willamette River during storms.

NE Grand and NE Schuyler Sewer Project

Environmental Services has started construction on a sewer project to repair 165 feet of public sewer piping in the Lloyd neighborhood. The project will protect public health, property, and the environment by increasing the capacity of the public sewer system.
N Gantenbein Avenue Sewer Project

Design work is underway, and construction is anticipated to begin in Fall 2024.
Environmental Services is designing a project to replace the main sewer line on N Gantenbein Avenue. Sections of the pipe are over 120 years old and in deteriorating condition. This project will reduce the risks of basement sewer backups, flooding, and emergency repairs in the future.
