Springwater Wetlands and Floodplain Restoration Project

Construction started in Spring 2024. This project will take a year and a half to complete.
Environmental Services has begun construction on a project to restore wetlands and natural habitat on about 30 acres in the Johnson Creek floodplain. This project will reduce flood risk for local homes and businesses and enhance habitat for sensitive wildlife.

82nd Avenue: Street Lighting

As part of this project, the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will make critical pedestrian crossing improvements to 82nd Avenue at seven intersections between NE Klickitat and SE Lambert streets.

PBOT is investing in 82nd Avenue to deliver critical fixes now. The needed urgent safety and maintenance repairs to the corridor include paving, crossings, lighting, safety improvements at intersections, and sidewalk improvements.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation will create the 60s Neighborhood Greenway to establish low-stress neighborhood streets that are great places to walk, bike, roll, and play. This north-south greenway will connect destinations in the South Tabor, Mt. Scott-Arletta, Foster-Powell neighborhoods.

SE 26th Avenue and Gladstone Sewer Repair Project

Construction began in February 2024 and took three months to complete.
Environmental Services completed a project to replace an existing 114-year‐old, 240-foot-long public sewer pipe in the Creston-Kenilworth neighborhood. This project will protect public health and the environment by increasing the capacity of the public sewer system.

82nd Avenue: Major Maintenance

As part of this project, the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will make urgent safety and maintenance improvements to 2.5 miles of NE 82nd Avenue from Fremont Street to Schuyler Street and SE 82nd Avenue from Mill Street to Foster Road.
