Environmental Services has completed construction for this project.
Environmental Services has completed construction of urgent repairs to 3,600 feet of 140-year-old public sewer pipes in downtown Portland that were in very poor condition. At a high risk of collapsing, the pipes required repairs to protect buildings and streets from sewage releases and flooding.
Construction is complete and paving will happen on February 7 and 8.
Environmental Services coordinated with the Peninsula Drainage District #2 (PEN2) to construct a project to replace approximately 300 feet of storm pipe on NE 13th Avenue at NE South Shore Road. This project will increase system capacity and relieve neighborhood flooding.
Construction was completed February 2022.
Environmental Services has completed a project to repair 1,080 feet of aging, large-diameter public sewer pipe in the South Portland Neighborhood. Repairs will increase the sewer’s resiliency, extend its service life for 50 years or more, and help prevent sewage releases.

The Arbor Lodge - Kenton project was completed in January 2022.
Environmental Services completed a project in the Arbor Lodge-Kenton Neighborhood area to repair over two miles of public sewer pipe. Having provided over 85 years of service on average, the pipes required repairs to maintain reliable sewer service and protect public health and the environment.
Construction was completed in March 2022.
In partnership with property owners and residents, we worked on a range of investments that will help improve stormwater management in the Basin 3 and Tryon Headwaters area to slow stormwater, reduce flooding, and improve water quality as it discharges to local Spring and Tryon creeks.
