Portland’s 30-mile Wildwood Trail once suffered a major flaw: its crossing at Burnside Road. With an average 18,000 vehicles passing daily, hikers were forced to dodge traffic in their pursuit of nature. The Barbara Walker Crossing now enhances access to nature by making this crossing safe.
S Bond Avenue Extension

This 0.3-mile segment of S Bond Avenue between Marquam Bridge and Tilikum Crossing was completed in 2019. The street was built to support development of the OHSU Schnitzer Campus. Future phases (not funded at this time) will form a north-south couplet with S Moody Avenue through South Waterfront.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) reorganized the road to provide a bike lane between the Hayhurst neighborhood and the Southwest Community Center, Gabriel Park, and SW Vermont bike lanes. The project was funded by Fixing Our Streets.
Portland Open Space Sequence Restoration Project

Springwater Trail (Sellwood Gap) Trail Project

The Sellwood Gap (SE Umatilla to SE 13th Avenue) trail project will help close the gap between the Springwater on the Willamette Trail with the Springwater Corridor Trail by providing an off-street 12-foot path parallel to the Oregon Pacific mainline track from SE Umatilla to SE 13th Avenue.
